Chapter Three - Napkin Presentation #3 - Four Things You Have To Do

Chapter Three: Napkin Presentation #3

Four Things You Must Do to Succeed

So far:

  • Napkin Presentation #1 showed you what to do.

  • Napkin Presentation #2 explained what not to do, especially when it comes to working in depth with your team.

Now, Napkin Presentation #3 reveals the four things you absolutely must do if you want to succeed in network marketing.

These are not suggestions. They are non-negotiables.

Everyone earning $100,000 to $200,000 per year in this business has done these four things. No exceptions.

To make them easy to remember, let us use a simple story.

The Road Trip Metaphor

Imagine you are packing up the car for a family road trip. You are leaving rainy Washington and heading to sunny California.

You have your destination. You have your vehicle. But to get there, four things have to happen.

Let us break those down so you can understand not just what they are, but why they matter.

Own Your Life Car

Step 1: Get In and Get Started

This may sound obvious, but it matters:

No one has ever succeeded in network marketing without first getting started.

You cannot arrive in California if you never pull out of the driveway.

You have to join. You have to take action. You have to decide: "I am doing this, and I am moving forward."

Getting started does not mean knowing everything. It means making the decision to move and taking the first step.

Get Started

What Does It Cost to Get Started?

The cost depends on the company you choose, your vehicle for this journey.

Some let you join for free. Others may require $100, $500, or more. Whatever the case, you are investing in your business and your future.

Like any trip, you have to put something in to get something out.

Step 2: Fuel Up

On your road trip to California, the next thing you need is gas and oil. Without fuel, the car does not move; without oil, the engine burns out.

In network marketing, your products are your fuel, especially consumable ones. People use them, run out, and reorder. That is what keeps your business growing month after month.

  • Use and replace your products regularly.
  • Teach your team to do the same.

Why Consumable Products Matter

Building an organization with 780 people creates huge product volume, no matter the company.

Consumables drive compound growth:

  • No reorders = no momentum.
  • Reorders = stable, long-term income.

Most network marketing products are premium quality because companies invest in the product, not in advertising. Using the products yourself builds belief, and that belief is contagious.

Step 3: Shift Into Gear

You are on the road, but still in neutral. It is time to shift gears.

  • First gear: sponsor your first person.

Find five serious people, teach them to sponsor their own five, and duplication begins.

Five Times Sponsoring

Teach the Gear Shift

Once your five serious builders are in first gear, teach them to do the same. That is how you create momentum.

  • Third gear: active, duplicating leaders - three levels deep.

Step 4: Shift Into Fourth Gear

Once your leaders are in third gear, your business shifts into fourth gear, where momentum takes over.

  • Overdrive: momentum you do not have to push.

The Fourth Thing You Must Do: share your products, not with a hard sell, but through simple sharing.

  1. Get in and get started
  2. Use the products
  3. Shift into high gear
  4. Share with friends

Network marketing is not about convincing. It is about consistency. The Own Your Life system works if you work it.
